Design
Within my soul is a persisting passion to create. A one-time English major, I began to dabble in digital photography and Photoshop about a decade ago. Thus was born the inspiration behind my pursuit of a degree in graphic design. I’m fascinated by the way images, typography and colors all collaborate to visually communicate an influential message to viewers.
In today’s digital age, graphic design trends are ever-evolving. From software such as Adobe Dimension to a design fashion as simple as the digital personification of the hashtag, designers must stay up to date on current industry styles. I'm a highly motivated individual with a passion for creativity who is seeking work as a Freelance Graphic Designer. I recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media & Web Technology at the University of Maryland University College. I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and have knowledge in current design trends and software, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. I'm eager to develop my professional skills and look forward to sharing my innovative ideas with you. Want to know more? Photography
Photography is my visual harmony and I, the composer of everlasting glimpses of life. I capture photographs as a way of revealing my own unique interpretation of the natural world surrounding me. My work is a personal manifestation that details the visual splendor that stirs fervor within my soul. Photography first interested me as a hobby after the birth of my daughter and quickly flourished into a passion. Through my images, I’m able to express myself and connect with others on a level which I cannot with words. I aspire to venture along a creative journey — finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, living in the moment and preserving those memories, and viewing life from different angles.
My focus on nature derives from an appreciation of organic beauty and a passion for seizing its essence. I’m drawn to the everyday world around me and I seek details within its simplicity, elements that are not always noticed by the common person. I photograph flowers, trees and birds in their environment because I am drawn to their colors, shapes, lines and textures, and how they interact with light at varying times of the day. My photography incites tranquility and growth depicted through the transition of seasons. Through the use of fast shutter speeds, I suspend fleeting moments in time such as a hummingbird moth hovering to suck the nectar from a blossom. I use my macro lens to create images of flower stamen and ladybugs that make them seem larger than life.
